Customize Your Post

Add the photo, write the caption, set up the account, and dial in the numbers.

Without a photo the post shows a blank Instagram placeholder.

#hashtags and @mentions are colored like the real app.

Turn this post into a video

The caption travels into the studio as the script of a narrated short. Download the PNG to use the screenshot in your own edit.

  • Real Instagram layout, icons and typography
  • Like count, "Liked by" line, comments and timestamp
  • Carousel counter, story ring, Sponsored label
  • Light and dark mode, 3x resolution PNG

A fake Instagram post is the fastest way to set up a story. A screenshot of the post that started the drama, the ad everyone is quoting, the caption that did not age well, or a mockup of how a client's feed will look. Posting the real thing means burning a slot on a real account and waiting for the engagement to look right. This free Instagram post generator builds the frame directly in the browser instead. Upload the photo, choose square, portrait or landscape, write the caption with hashtags and mentions colored like the real app, and set every number: likes, comments, the "Liked by mia.k and others" line, or hidden likes. Add a verified badge, a gradient story ring, a location line or a Sponsored label, turn the heart red and fill the bookmark, then download a 3x PNG that holds up full-screen in a Short. Nothing is uploaded to a server: the preview renders on your device and the download comes straight out of it.

Everything you need

Built for creators who want fast, high-quality results.

Pixel-accurate feed post

Header, media, action row, likes, caption, comments line and timestamp are laid out with Instagram's spacing, icon set and font stack in both light and dark mode.

Three photo shapes

Square 1:1, portrait 4:5 and landscape 1.91:1, cropped the way the feed crops them. No photo yet? The post shows Instagram's blank media placeholder.

Every engagement number

Type any like count, switch to the "Liked by ... and others" line, hide likes entirely, and set the "View all comments" count and the posted time.

Carousel and story details

A slide counter and dots for multi-photo posts, a gradient story ring around the avatar, a verified badge, and a location or Sponsored line under the username.

Liked and saved states

Toggle the red filled heart and the filled bookmark so the screenshot reads as a post you already reacted to.

Private, high-resolution export

The PNG renders on your device at three times the on-screen size. Your photo never leaves the browser.

How it works

Four steps. Under a minute.

1

Upload the photo

Pick the image for the post and choose square, portrait or landscape. Add a profile photo for the account, or keep the initial avatar.

2

Write the caption

Type the caption with hashtags and mentions. They are colored automatically. Set the username, the location line and the verified badge.

3

Set the numbers

Enter likes and comments, choose the likes line style, pick the timestamp, and switch on carousel dots, the liked heart or the saved bookmark.

4

Download the PNG

Export the post at 3x resolution, or send the caption into the studio to narrate the post as a short.

Perfect for

Storytime and drama videos

Open with the post that started it all, then cut to the reaction. The caption and numbers set the stakes before you say a word.

Memes and parody accounts

Put words in a fictional account's feed, with the like count the joke needs.

Client mockups and pitches

Show a brand how a post will look in the feed before it is published, including a Sponsored label and a carousel.

Tutorials and awareness content

Illustrate what a scam post or a bad ad looks like without linking to a real one.

Frequently asked questions

Is this fake Instagram post generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark. The post renders in your browser and the PNG downloads straight from it.

Can I make a carousel post?

Set the slide count to 2 or more and the post gets Instagram's 1/N counter on the photo and the dots under it. The screenshot shows the first slide.

Can I hide the like count or show "Liked by ... and others"?

Yes. The likes line has three modes: the plain count, the "Liked by mia.k and others" line with a name you choose, or no likes line at all, the way hidden-likes posts look.

Does it support dark mode?

Yes. Switch the theme in Settings and the post uses Instagram's dark colors, including the dark hashtag color.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo stays in your browser. The preview and the PNG are generated on your device.

How do I turn the post into a video?

Use "Turn this post into a video" under the preview. The caption travels into the studio as the script of a narrated short. The PNG you download is yours to use in any edit.

Can I use these screenshots to impersonate someone?

No. Use the generator for original content, parody that is clearly labeled, mockups, and education. Passing off a fake post as a real person's statement can be defamation and breaks Instagram's rules.
